Hello Everyone,
We are nearing the end of January and I would like to do some general announcements that will be affecting our chapters globally. In order to become effective Chapters of the movement we need to be organised and achieve a certain level of effective cooperation. The following proposals and procedures are meant to achieve this higher quality of chapter representation.
1. Chapter Instructions
With the start of this email, in 2010 we will be sending out Chapter instructions for various chapter related tasks, being administrative or activism oriented. Every chapter is reccomended to follow these instructions in order to provide for effective cooperation.
2. Communications person
In order to ensure quick and effective communication between chapters, all chapters are asked to designate a person within the chapter that is able to respond to movement related correspondence within 48 hours by default.
This person can be anyone within the chapter, as long as this person has the trust and communicative skill to be able to participate in this very important communication process.
If the person is not the coordinator, email me who is going to take on this responsibility for your chapter.
3. Subchapter listing
Existing chapters that have subchapters in their area are requested to submit data about these subchapters by email to me so that i can keep record in our spreadsheets and provide the most up to date Chapter information.
If you as a chapter have subchapters that are developed and can be considered operational please submit the location of the chapter including the country and / or state name, name of the coordinator of the subchapter, email of the subchapter and their website.
Target deadline for this round of submissions is February 22nd 2010. Please submit asap :).
4. Meeting Participation
In order to be an official chapter for the movement, meeting participation is required. Participation is at the least expected at a continental level such as European or US meetings but at least one representative should be part of the International meeting as well to stay up to date with global planning and activities.
5. Website look and content
Due to growing popularity of the movement, website reviews have been slacking. However it is very important for all chapter websites to have the most important documents translated and presented on the chapter website. If you have not already done so, please add the Orientation guide, Understandings and a Faq to your page and try to maintain a similar menu structure as the International website. Of course if you have a unique design that is fine as long as the purpose is met.
We also intend to work towards making all chapter websites look attractive. As superficial as this may sound i have gotten some complaints about websites looking unprofessional or unattractive and if we clear that barrier for some people it will save some headache for the future.
6. Global Projects
In 2010 we plan to launch multiple global projects, however there is room for much more and i would like to have everyone think of potential and effective global projects that can assist us in educating people around the world. World hunger can be solved will be a tryout project for world wide coordinated activism.
An inventory will soon be starting to figure out which chapters are up for it :). And we will start to work on a planning schedule.
7. Zday 2010
As has been stressed before, do your best to have at least 1 zday event happening in your area. The more quality events we have, the more potential for media coverage and exposure of the movement to the public.
8. Q & A preparation meeting
As discussed in last international meeting we will plan at least 1 meeting before Zday to cover basic questions me may get on zday and discuss how to best approach them and answer them. I will try to make sure we can get Peter there too to give advice.
Lastly I want to say that everyone is doing great :) I am very happy with the results and growth that everyone has been showing and I am very confident that 2010 will be a very positive year for us. You as chapters are the main reason for that :) and I am happy to work with you.
